What we do

Empower our customers with the capability to produce high performance embedded hardware platforms rapidly, reducing time to market.

Varisys designs and manufactures embedded computer systems with particular focus on FPGA and Digital Signal Processing technologies, as well as low power ARM and PowerPC architectures. Varisys controls and carries out the complete design process from system architecture and schematic capture to producing data packs for board manufacture. Varisys tests to meet customer specifications and provides support for the life of the project.

Varisys was founded in 2000 by Adam Barnes and Paul Gentle. The company has grown over the last 14 years operating in multiple industries which require high performance electronics to power application-critical systems.

Over the Company's life, its portfolio of projects and expertise has increased. Varisys routinely embarks on complex projects requiring custom video processing, storage and I/O solutions in addition to processor boards.

With many customers looking towards commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products as the solution to supplier lock-in, Varisys partnered with a select group of OEMs including GE Intelligent Platforms, North Atlantic Industries and SECO. This has allowed us to provide the most cost-effective complete solution, combining both COTS and custom products in a system when required.

In June 2013, Varisys was acquired by Ultra Electronics. The founders remain with the business which operates autonomously.

Varisys' track record of rapid turnaround projects and high responsiveness provides all customers with confidence and the opportunity to meet demanding market needs.
