VMG1 - Graphics display module

The VMG1 is an industry standard PMC module adhering to IEEE P1386 PCI Mezzanine Card specification. It’s compact form factor gives system designers and integrators an easy way to include high-resolution 2D/3D graphics into systems that accommodate PMC cards, such as VMEbus, CompactPCI, PXI, PCI and even bus-independent stand-alone systems.
With extended temperature and product lifetime the VMG1 is ideally suited to environmentally demanding, high-end graphics based applications. The VMG1 features a 32bit, 33MHz PCI bus with DMA multi-burst capabilities, a powerful graphics engine, dual channel video outputs, and up to 64Mbytes of graphics memory.
The VMG1 features the Fujitsu Coral PA graphics controller and offers resolutions up to XGA (1024 x 768 pixels) in 24bit colour. A 200Mhz core provides hardware acceleration of 2D and 3D drawing functions and the high performance PCI interface supports DMA and burst transfers to maximise frame buffer bandwidth enabling its rendering engine to achieve outstanding performance in texture mapping and drawing image quality.
Fujitsu’s MB86296 CORAL-PA graphics controller provides support for 6 display layers, has enhanced video input capabilities, and offers a powerful geometry engine that performs precise numerical operations for graphics processing using floating-point operations, as well as a 4-layer overlay, left/right picture display, wraparound scrolling, double buffers and translucent display. All layers offer 24-, 16- and 8-bit colour, with 4 different colour pallets.
Graphic inputs can be doubled in size, and the windows display-layer management functions can deliver several images simultaneously. This video-input upscaling capability makes it possible to display high-resolution, full-screen-mode multimedia pictures. Both upscaling and downscaling can be set independently in horizontal and vertical directions in pixel or line resolutions.
The video output is available via the standard VESA DVI-I connector located at the bezel end and also via the PMC user I/O connector.
The VMG1 is available in industrial temperature specfication as standard.

Software support for Windows, Linux and VxWorks is available.
