VT248 - Single/dual PowerPC VME card

The VT248 dual PowerPC™ VME card delivers an outstanding combination of computational and I/O performance in a industry standard form factor. On its own or as part of a multiprocessing system, the VT248 is a powerful engine for embedded computing in industrial, military and commercial applications.

The VT248 utilises two third generation PowerPC™ G4+ CPU's - the Motorola MPC7448. This device has a highly advanced superscaler architecture to delivering exceptional integer and floating point performance.

The PowerPC™ G4+ benefits from a highly efficient 167MHz system bus and an AltiVec™ 128 bit vector processing engine which can perform four single precision floating point operations per clock cycle. Performance is further enhanced by 1MByte on chip cache running at full core speed. The MPC7448 is available with clock speeds up to 1.7GHz.

The VT248 is available with dual Gbit Ethernet ports, dual PMC sites, dual serial ports and up to 1GByte of external SDRAM.
